Book 14 of 2013 is Disneylanders by Kate Abbott
Disneylanders is an adorable contemporary novel about a young girl named Casey who is struggling with how her life is changing. She's going into high school soon and thanks to her best friend bailing on her she feels as if she doing it alone. On top of all of this she feels as if her parents still see her as a child. When waiting in line she meets Bert and the story takes off from there.
I loved Disneylanders. As you may know I am a HUGE Disney fan. I will be participating in there College Program for Spring 2014 and I was looking for a Disneyland book to get me excited (even more so than I already am) about starting in January. This fit the bill perfectly. I love Abbott's writing style. It feels a bit amateur but it is filled to the brim with feeling. I love that she doesn't treat Disneyland as a background for the book. It feels as if Disneyland is a character in this book just as much as Casey and Bert are. This book is a great read if you love Disney and the occasional Contemporary novel! Definitely pick it up if you have the chance.
Disneylanders gets 4.5 stars out of 5
