Book 1 of 2014 is Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier
Ruby Red is a book that takes place in Contemporary London and follows a girl named Gwen. She believes she is completely ordinary (unlike her cousin Charlotte) until one day she finds out that maybe she's not as ordinary as she thought she was when she time travels back to Victorian London suddenly. This story follows her trying to make sense of what has swiftly become her new life.
I loved Ruby Red! It left me wanting to read the next book in this trio (Sapphire Blue) immediately. The main character Gwen was charming and easy to relate to. The rest of the characters were also very well written. Gier left you wanting to know ever one of there back stories. The Time travel aspect of this book was also really interesting. I strongly suggest you pick this up if you have the chance. Its a great story with a dash of time travel what more could you ask for!
