Paper Towns is about our main character Quentin Jacobsen (or as his friends call him Q). One night the girl he's admired from afar his entire life Margo Roth Speigelman comes in through his window and asks for his help with the execution of a night of debauchery. But the day after this amazing adrenaline filled night of vandalism and pranks Margo has left again. After Quentin overhears Margo's parents recalling how she always left impossible to decipher clues the other times she's run away Q makes it his personal mission to hunt down all these clues and find Margo Roth Speigelman.
Paper Towns has been on my shelf for awhile now but with the movie fast approaching I figured there was no time like the present. This book was great. I was really fascinating to watch Q and his friends thought process. (Even when you figure out certain clues before them and your yelling "Q TURN THE FRICK AROUND AND DO THE THING!" at your book to no avail.) I always find books about high school interesting because I never experienced it myself. But I feel like if I had I would have had a very similar experience to Quentin. The characters are really what make this book. They're friendships and relationships are amazing to read about, and the writing was fantastic. That said it did leave me wanting just a little bit more. But if you have the chance I highly recommend you pick it up and give it a read.
Paper Towns gets 4.5 out of 5
