One evening Phileas Fogg makes a bet with some of his fellow members of the reform club that he could make it around the globe in 80 days. This rash bet starts Phileas and his manservant Passepartout on a rapid journey around the world encountering new friends and enemies along the way.
I've been trying to pick up more classics and this one was a short read coming in at only 237 pages. I was already vaguely familiar with the story but only from commercials for the 2004 film adaptation staring Steve Coogan and Jackie Chan (so not a lot). It was a very short story I finished it in a matter of hours but it was a great read. If you want to read a short book about going around the world from a very British point of view pick this one up!
Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne gets 4 out of 5 stars
